Assistant Professor - Dept. Computer Science/University of Porto

About me

I am an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Sciences/University of Porto, where I am appointed as subdirector of the Master's degree in Information Security.

During my postdoc, I was a member of the the Intel Science and Technology Center (ISTC) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where I was involved in both Cloud Computing and Embedded Computing centers.

Past work in industry includes fault-tolerant and real-time P2P middleware, reliable multicast and scalable backend suppport for mobile platforms. This included software architecture, cloud-computing, distributed systems, parallel programming, algorithmic optimization, forward error correction, network coding, databases, real-time programming and devops.

My main research interests are Systems Security and Reliability, Distributed Computing, Secure Overlays, Operating Systems and IoT/Edge Computing.
