Thematic Seminars depicts a selection of 3h lectures that overview and provide a deeper coverage to a set of research subjects and fields.
Tuesdays, 15h-18h
Each student will be assigned two seminars, for each one of which he or she must write a report. The report style is that common for conference reports. Please find an example below in this page (Fourth ACM SIGOPS European Workshop). For each seminar, we expect one or two pages, with a personal summary of the presented subject and some details on the ensuing discussion (if any discussion occurs).
Reports are due by the 1st of February, 2009. Submissions should be sent, in PDF format, to Prof. João Barros (jbarros@fe.up.pt), and to one of the selected seminar speakers. 70% of the grading is allocated to the respective seminar speaker and 30% of the grade is set for calibration, by Joao Barros, among all reports.
