Seaware, a publish-subscribe middleware

(archived webpage)

Overview

Seaware is a publish-subscribe middleware for networked vehicle systems developed at LSTS.

Seaware was used with systems composed of heterogeneous components (ground stations, autonomous vehicles) running on diverse platforms (Linux/Windows, C++/Java bindings). It provided means for underwater acoustic communications and RTPS (Real Time Publish Subscribe) communications over Wifi/Ethernet.

For RTPS, we used DDS from Real Time Innovations Inc. or, alternatively, OCERA ORTE.
