Pedro Raposo | Senior Bioinformatician and Curator at EMBL-EBI
The Department of Computer Science will host an event organized by the Bioinformatics Student Group (NUBI) on July 17 at 4:00 PM, in the FC6 0.29 Auditorium.
In this talk, Pedro Raposo will share his academic and professional journey in bioinformatics. The session will explore the global role of computational biology in his research, as well as the challenges and opportunities he has encountered throughout his career. It will also provide an opportunity to learn about practical applications of computer science in the life sciences and explore possible career paths in this rapidly growing field, concluding with a Q&A session with the audience.
Pedro Raposo is a Senior Bioinformatician and Curator at EMBL-EBI. With a background in both biology and computer science, he has built a career that combines laboratory experience with expertise in computing. His work spans omics data analysis and several areas of biotechnology, contributing to the integration and interpretation of large-scale biological data.
