Abstract:
This talk will focus on the process of scientific publication as key in the dissemination of verifiable knowledge. It will cover how to structure research papers, choosing the right journals, and the submission and peer-review process. Practical tips for enhancing manuscript visibility, responding to reviewer feedback, and adhering to ethical guidelines will also be discussed. By highlighting the importance of publications, the aim is to help researchers to communicate their findings and maximize their impact in the scientific community.
Bio:
Rui Borges Lopes holds a PhD in Industrial Management (2011) and has been teaching Industrial Engineering and Management since 2005. Between 2003 and 2007, he worked as an IT consultant. He has been a Professor at the University of Aveiro since 2014, and is currently a researcher at the Center for Research & Development in Mathematics and Applications (CIDMA), where he leads the thematic line "Mathematics in Industry". His research focuses on Logistics and Production, often applying Operational Research methods, and Decision Support Systems. He has authored several publications in high-impact journals and successfully supervised MSc and PhD students from diverse countries, cultures, and backgrounds.
