TVI – Diário da Manhã, on May 17, 2026.
Professor Luís Antunes, faculty member at the Department of Computer Science of FCUP and Director of the University of Porto Cybersecurity Competence Centre, recently took part in a television interview dedicated to the digital security challenges associated with the use of the Portuguese Tax Portal (Portal das Finanças).
The interview took place in a context where, due to the IMI payment period and the increasing digitalization of public services, thousands of citizens use the Tax Portal daily to consult, pay, or regularize tax obligations. During the conversation, it was highlighted that many users still rely on the support of family members or accountants, often sharing login credentials and other sensitive information.
Throughout the interview, Professor Luís Antunes addressed topics such as:
- personal data protection;
- risks associated with sharing credentials;
- good digital security practices;
- the importance of cybersecurity literacy;
- challenges posed by the digitalization of public services.
His participation reinforces the relevance of the work developed at DCC in the areas of cybersecurity, privacy, and information systems protection, as well as the role of academia in raising awareness of the risks and challenges of the digital environment.
