The Doctoral Program in Informatics (MAPi), jointly offered by the Universities of Minho, Aveiro, and Porto, represents a strategic initiative to provide, in the north of Portugal, a high-quality 3rd cycle educational program in Informatics. The program has a strong international orientation and is firmly grounded in excellence in research.
Its mission is to train professionals who will become future leaders in Informatics, endowed with a solid scientific background, strong communication skills, and entrepreneurial initiative. Graduates will be well prepared to pursue careers as researchers, university professors, or as agents of change in companies with a strong focus on innovation.
MAPi is supported by a highly qualified faculty body and involves both national and international collaboration with research units and industry. Partnerships with Carnegie Mellon University (through the CMU-Portugal program) and the University of Texas at Austin have already enabled dozens of students to obtain dual degrees, co-supervised by Portuguese and American professors.
