Ignatyuk on April 30, 2002) ********************************************** Content ------- Fission barrier parameters recommended for the trans-thorium nuclei by V.M.Maslov [1] and for the pre-actinides by G.N.Smirenkin [2]. The fission barrier parameters are strongly correlated with the corresponding level density description and the symmetry of the fission barriers should always be taken into account for the consistent description of fission cross sections. For nuclei with Z<80 the liquid drop barriers described by Sierk's code [3] are recommended with the addition of the ground-state shell corrections estimated by the Moeller-Nix (Segment 1) or the Myers-Swiatecki (Segment 5) mass formulae. More details on fission level densities are given in Chapter 7 of the RIPL-2 Handbook. Format ------ Each record of the file contains: Z : charge number of the fissioning nucleus A : mass number of the fissioning nucleus El : element symbol of the fissioning nucleus Ea : inner barrier height in MeV SymA: symmetry of the inner-barrier saddle point Eb : outer barrier height in MeV SymA: symmetry of the outer-barrier saddle point Delf: correlation function of the fission channel recommended for the fission level density calculation in MeV The corresponding FORTRAN format is (2(i3,1x),a2,2(f8.3,4a),f9.3) References ---------- [1] V.
