No próximo dia 10 de Julho, pelas 13h45 na sala FC6-0.29 (Anf. 2) no DCC, Nuno Guimarães irá dar uma palestra intitulada "Unreliable content on Social Media: can we trust our feed?".
Nuno Guimarães é, atualmente, aluno de doutoramento em Ciência de Computadores e investigador do CRACS-INESCTEC . O seu tema do doutoramento incide sobre a análise e deteção de conteúdo não confiável em redes sociais. Anteriormente, foi investigador no projeto REMINDS cujo objetivo era a deteção de informação relevante nessas mesmas plataformas. O Nuno completou o mestrado e a licenciatura em Ciência de Computadores na Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto. Na sua dissertação de mestrado, ele desenvolveu um novo método não supervisionado para criar léxicos de sentimento que são dependentes do tempo e domínio.
A palestra é organizada pelo DCC-FCUP e pelo grupo de investigação CRACS-INESCTEC e é aberta a todos os interessados.

Sumário
The spread of misinformation on social networks has reached concerning proportions. The scientific community as well as companies like Google, Facebook and Twitter are already tackling the problem in several fronts such as the development of methods to identify the veracity of a post automatically or detect bots that are spreading unreliable content on social media.
In this talk, we present the state-of-the-art efforts that are being taken to solve the problem of false information on social networks. Then, we will detail on unreliable users and how their identification can be achieved. Finally, we will look at the current status of Twitter and to what extent do unreliable users affect our feed.
